Little Nemo in Slumberland

When a collection of Winsor McCay's comic strips from the early 1900s called Little Nemo In Slumberland was published last fall, the entire 5,000-copy run sold out in eight weeks. Then the book surfaced on eBay with bids north of $400. The success of this paean to print (a second edition from Sunday Press is due out this spring) warmed the hearts of purists, as did two other well-received recent volumes of period design and illustration, Masters of American Comics and The World on Sunday.
