Walker Workshop is a design-build firm that creates well-crafted, modern structures. The aesthetic is warmly minimal with careful consideration of light, space and location. As a licensed architect and general contractor, the studio efficiently deliver projects from the initial planning stages through to the fine detailing of finish elements and furniture design. Recent projects include completed homes Hollywood, Manhattan Beach and Beverly Hills.
Approach to Residential Design
Principal Noah Walker and his associates enter each project with an open mind. First they learn about clients' needs and dreams, and study project sites and their context. "We try to respond in kind with an alchemy that takes all of these factors into account. We want to create modern homes that are simple yet dramatic, elegant yet comfortable," says Walker.
As an architect and builder, Walker Workshop takes a holistic approach to place making, allowing the studio to take a high level of responsibility for our projects. This also adds efficiencies and means miscommunications, which are common in the traditional building process, are avoided. Our small size allows the principal to be closely involved with each project and we have a real desire to make each project unique.
For Walker, light is a critical influence, as it can give minimal space richness and warmth or leave a space feeling cold. The architects study light and try to understand how each project can exploit it.
